The Animals Sing The Blues
While the Beatles brought the Pop Liverpool sound to America, the Animals, from the working class city of Newcastle, brought English blues and soul to the colonies. Their style of music was greatly influenced by the American blues and were, do doubt, responsible for introducing many young white Americans to the blues. This is a collection of Eric Burdon's and Alan Prices' "bluesier" songs originally performed by greats such as Muddy Waters, Bessie Smith, Josh White, Albert King, Percy Mayfield, Jimmy Reed and other blues singers of the 1950's.
