574: Forgotten Favorites...Joe Tex

Native Texan, Joseph Arrington, Jr. (August 8, 1933 - August 13, 1982), was better known as Joe Tex. Joe gained success in the 1960s and 1970s with his style of soul music which combined gospel, funk, country, and R 'n' B.
He signed the King label in 1955 after performing at the Apollo several times. His first hit "Hold On To What You Got"in 1964, was the first of many hit records. He was nominated to the Rock Hall of Fame several times, but has not been inducted...although he will certainly be included in Trick's Rock Hall Closet of Fame!
We were first exposed to Joe on WLAC, so we asked legendary DJ, Big John R., to provide color commentary...enjoy this new feature from Trick's Synthetic Podcast's Countdown.
