512: A Little Al on The Side



From his early days as a song writer of "This Diamond Ring" to Music Director for the television series "Crime Story," Al Kooper has been a great influence in American pop music. He was a founding member of The Blues Project and Blood, Sweat, and Tears, shared albums with Michael Bloomfield and Shuggie Otis. Al Kooper, Produced Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Tubes, and more. But while he may not be the first name to come to mind when you think of classic music of the later decades of the 20th century, Al has surely made his mark as  a stellar musician and on heck of a sideman.
